Colin Johnston opened his mechanical workshop in 1948 and in 1961 expanded the business to include a petrol service station and convenience store. In 1976 Garry started his apprenticeship with his father, by which time he already had an appreciation for vintage and veteran cars. He assumed ownership of the business in 1985 from his dad and in 1991 he expanded the business further to include car sales. He owns old Dodges and races a Ford in speedway when he isn't fixing cars. "I enjoy what I do and working with people", he says, "it is fulfilling to work for people in a small community who appreciate my services". Come and see him about your motoring needs, he's partial to a friendly chat.
